ONUMB Twirler Tryouts 2020

Students interested in Twirler positions are asked to complete the interest form below and return it with a short video (3 (minimum)-5 minutes). The video should show a variety of twirling techniques to include; speed; multiple baton; tosses and acrobatics. Each routine must include a minimum of one uninterrupted minute of single-baton twirling. Students will be evaluated on variety, difficulty, coordination, appearance, gracefulness, twirling/dancing techniques, posture, originality and showmanship. No props or group work are allowed during the audition.(Consider the following techniques as you create your video: horizontal finger twirls, vertical finger twirls, illusion, 2 spins vertical and horizontal, 2 & 3 baton combinations, and a roll section) No specific number of majorettes is chosen in any given year. The number of majorettes has ranged from 1-6 in recent years and depends on solely on the caliber of applicants. Return your tryout video by April 15 th for priority consideration. After your video is reviewed (by May 15 th ) you will be  notified by email if you are accepted. Tryout videos may be submitted via flash drive or DVD. Mail your recording to:

ONUMB Guard Tryouts 2020

Students interested in Flag Corps positions are asked to complete the interest form below and return it with a short video (3 (minimum)-5 minutes). The video should show a variety of flag fundamentals that include drop spins, double time spins, a single money-hand toss, a one and half money-hand toss, a double time toss, a horizontal toss, and a 45 toss. No props or group work are allowed during the audition. The routine using “family friendly” music should also demonstrate one’s dance abilities. Routines will be judged based  on technique, difficulty, body placement, control, and overall performance and showmanship.  Each candidate should try to demonstrate all of their performance strengths. Return your tryout video by April 15 th for priority consideration. After your video is reviewed (by May 15th) you will be notified by email if you are accepted.
